9 months n lookin forward...

As my office celebrates its maiden anniversary next week which coincides with the completion of 9 precious months of my life in this place i call work, I remember the day (my bday!!), when I called up my boss to check up on the status of my interview. I was told tht they cudnt offer me a packet I desired, but that I was just the person they were looking for...

What better gift could I ask for, than to land a job in a growing firm, with a great team and an even great mentor as a boss. As I look back to my first day at work here, and where I stand now, I must say, I've learnt a lot, both as a professional and as a person. How to analyse tenders & prepare bids, how to manage projects, how to estimate the cost & time involved in any activity...Loads more than I thought. Major contributions to achieving ISO 9001:2000, working for 3 days at a stretch to ensure completion of a job, late nights at work, picnics, squabbles, all in all, a complete experience.

There could never have been a better place, where you would be given the freedom or the opportunity to experiment to your desire's extent, find helping superiors, a place where everyone's working for the betterment of each other, for the growth of the organisation...Am glad to be part of this firm, n hope that it grows and serves the nation by providing quality service.

Wishing RTC many more anniversaries to come...

As dreams fade away...

Edited bits and pieces of a poem and omitted parts too...To the imperfect PERFECT one

I’m just waiting here by the sea,
For you my love to return to me.
Just writing your name in the sand,
And waiting for you, my special man.

I hope your task won’t take very long.
But your convictions are very strong.
I know God will show you the way,
So I can celebrate your safe return one day.

For now I’ll sit here dreaming of you,
While reading one of your IMs, or two.
Then I will walk again by the shore,
Searching the sea for your ship once more.

It’s sunset now this day will soon end,
I’m now going to write a letter to send.
Telling you darling of my everlasting love,
How you’re the man I’m so very proud of.

Tomorrow when I awake again I’ll go,
Down to the sea, along the shore I’ll stroll.
Dear, I shall take this walk day after day,
Until you sail home, my love, to forever stay.

The Heavens Are Opening

I'm singing in the rain, Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feelin', I'm happy again.
I'm laughing at the clouds, So dark up above
The sun's in my heart, And I'm ready for love.

Let the stormy clouds chase, Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain, I've a smile on my face.
I walk down the lane, With a happy refrain
Just singin', Singin' in the rain.

24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?
25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
Romans 8: 24-25

I came across this verse during my evening prayer, and as its happening of late, each event, each verse, that I come across, means a lot to me. This concept called HOPE, is very abstract. Only a person who believes in hope, one with an optimistic approach to life, will see meaning in what I intend to say, but may not put down appropriately. Life has so much to offer to us humans. It may be revealed through various means, at various stages of life. The same thing which might have seemed trivial at one point of time may be your only hope at another stage of life.

At times, when situations become inexplicable, complicated, seem to be getting out of hand, that's when our friend, Hope comes along to help. Hope's God's way of saying, child you've tried hard, now you better sit still and let me help you out. A time when you realise the power of prayer, mostly through the most unexpected channels [the problem itself].

Hope however, isn't a solution to all of life's problems. In situations where the problem in question has long lasting effects, one should give it his/her best and if they think that it isn't worth the effort or time, you might as well terminate the issue. Hopefully, if you end things at an early enough stage, you won't end up complicating things further, and end up feeling better that you saved yourself time to try your hand at something more productive and saved yourself the embarassment. The earlier, the better. But that doesn't amount to giving up either.

So,don't always sit back and hope, be proactive, act before its too late. Hope's great, but like the saying goes "too much of anything is bad".

Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining

I can't give solutions to all of life's problems, doubts, or fears. But I can listen to you, and together we will search for answers.
I can't change your past with all it's heartache and pain,
nor the future with its untold stories.
But I can be there now when you need me to care.
I can't keep your feet from stumbling.
I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.
Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happiness are not mine; Yet I can share in your laughter.
Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;
I can only support you, encourage you,and help you when you ask.
I can't prevent you from falling away from friendship, from your values,
from me.I can only pray for you, talk to you and wait for you.
I can't give you boundaries which I have determined for you,
But I can give you the room to change, room to grow, room to be yourself.
I can't keep your heart from breaking and hurting, but I can cry with you
and help you pick up the pieces and put them back in place.
I can't tell you who you are.
I can only love you and be your friend.

Portrait of a Friend

This is the story of an acquaintance, Ms Broken Heart, of how she met Mr Piggy, how they became pals, how she felt different and how it ended with her heart breaking into a zillion pieces, all this within a week of knowing each other. She's so bugged, she could make steak out of him if ever she laid hands on him. Man, how mad she is, n the wierdest thing is that they're still pals, atleast I guess so. So, then Piggy, this is what she has to tell you...

Notice me, take my hand

Why are we strangers when Our love is strong

Why carry on without me

Everytime I try to fly, I fall

Without my wings, I feel so small

I guess I need you, baby

And everytime I see you in my dreams, I see your face, it's haunting me

I guess I need you, baby

I make believe that you are here, It's the only way I see clear

What have I done, You seem to move on easy

Piggy, it's ok to be friends, but you know pretty well the situation she's in. Why don't you just tell her whether or not you're interested, cos if you don't she'll just feel worse, n may end up making you feel as if you're responsible for it all... Hope you read this sometime.

Moral of the story: "Wise men subscribe when the time is ripe. The unwise keep waiting for a better offer that may never come"

The Final Inspection

The Soldier stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, you Soldier, How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?"

The Soldier squared his shoulders and said, "No, my Lord, I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a dollar, That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime, When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here.
They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much, But if you don't, I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod.
As the Soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier, You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets, You've done your time in Hell."

Will Life Remain This Way, Forever?

[Lyrics from Emilia's Life (Will Never Be The Same)]

Life will never be the same
Will never be the same
If you take control
I tell you girl
Will never be the same
Will never be the same
If you rile your world
And then you feel that
You'll make it better on your own...

A friend is there beside you
To share your ups and downs
Call me up when you need
And I'll make you forget that cloud
And I'll always, always, always
Keep you smiling if I can
Let's go out together
And have some fun tonight
Listen to what i have to say...

At some point of life, u feel like this is where u want to be. U're satisfied with what u hv, n u feel u want no more. But will it (life) always stay this way? There are certain things beyond one's control which when they happen, make you feel so frustrated, so tired of being urself. That's when u need to stick to the philosophy of enjoyin life when you can, enjoy it to the fullest!!

Life moves on...

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same
"If" by Rudyard Kipling

When the train chugged out of the station and her pals waving her farewell faded into the distance, it still hadn't sunken into her that she'd never return in the near future like she'd wished.
Never had she thought that the day would come so soon, a day when she'd move out, leaving something she'd liked and someone she'd loved behind.
Life's so unpredictable. Nothing works according to plan. She'd been there for a reason she still doesn't know why. A year after she moved in and when she got her special something, she'd decided to stick on for a considerably long while. She loved the place, the people, the culture, every bit of it. But this world being dynamic, nothing stays one way too long. The time came too soon when she began to feel out-of-place, frustrated with life, and, everyone and everything around her just added to the dejection. It was at this point that she realized that the time had come to go on.
Half a decade ago, she'd met a person, one who stood out from the rest. Never had she known then, that fate would bring them together again, a day she'd never forget. She was glad for whatever happened, the way it happened; but love ain't a one-way street, you just can't cross your fingers and wait for a miracle to happen. Didn't wait again, moved on...
Buddha once said, there are two mistakes in life: NOT STARTING THE JOURNEY, and NOT GOING ALL THE WAY. Life has no meaning if you begin the journey without knowing the end. This was her mistake, her dreams ended abruptly cos she never went all the way.

The Transit of R from NCR

The happy-go-lucky trio known as NCR was one with a difference. It all started more than a year ago, when they all met by chance at one fun place, led by one whom we could easily identify with. This was THE dream place.

They were all go-getters of different kinds - one who was used to getting her way out, one who was Ms Muddle, and one who adapted to the situation to attain what she wanted! Ms Leader taught them how to move ahead by complementing each other. They first started out as duos, where confused one switched places. A few parties and the second pair stuck, while the third one began to withdraw into a shell of her own. Many more months, lotsa bickering, a makeover and a shocking revelation down the line, they realised that joining hands wouldn't do them any harm...Thus began the story of the actual trio!!

However, call it bad luck, this teaming up faced lot of criticism. The bonding wasn't meant to harm or hurt anybody, but that's how it began to be pictured. The more the resilience grew, the more the bond tightened. Until one fine day, the exodus began...

Misconstrued as a move to spell disaster, the trio were forced to leave on a wrong note. This sudden turn of events pained many, but like the adage goes, "There's no use crying over spilt milk". They've all learnt to cope with dejections like this and are moving on in life, scaling greater heights - N's where she deserves to be; C's switched again; R's still on the move, on her journey to... Let's wait & see where!!

Hello World

Finally I've joined that category of people who dont know where they're headed for, why they are where they are! I'm all set to leave this small place that I'd loved to be part of. A month down the line and I'll b a small speck in this world. A part of the all those in the ratrace for u kno what. My friends, my family everyone's there to support me, but somehow I just feel so lonely so lost. I've become overtly religious...I kno the Almighty hasn't given up on me, but one only realises the need for His help only when we've lost hope in t ourselves. I'm feeling so lost, confounded. 4 more weeks, n I dunno where I'll be...
